The Power of a Touch

….because sometimes in this technological age I’m left feeling like somehow we’ve forgotten how to be human.
We’ve lost touch with the fact that we’re all in this together.
Living life.
With joys.
With troubles.
With burdens and triumphs, in a world that can be less than gentle.
And even when we do remember and reach out, it can be met with skepticism, as if our motives can’t possibly be pure.
But yes.
Sometimes a smile can be just a smile.
Because there just aren’t enough in the world.
A gentle touch can be just a touch, because people are special and secretly longing for gentleness.
Every person is important.
And special.
People can be magic.
But if we don’t remember to be humans, together, living life, we can miss the magic.
We can and do often miss the gift of lending an ear, or receiving a smile.
We miss the magic of being people, of just being human, together in this messy world…….

Yes…this! A simple touch can mean so much to someone who is lonely.
