How I’m Going To Live Better Today {progress update}

You may remember that a couple of weeks ago, I talked about how some bad habits had crept into my life and the way in which I was going to replace said bad habits with a new good habit. In that post, I asked if my readers would partner with me in starting one new habit to better our lifestyle daily. Because. when it comes right down to it, our entire lives are really made up of habits piled on top of one another. It’s these habits, both good and bad, that ultimately determine the quality of our life.

So, today, an update. My goal was to get into the habit of having more healthful foods on hand so that when mealtime comes, I am better able to make healthy decisions with little effort.

How’s it going?

It’s going really well! I have almost constantly had a bean salad, tossed salad, and some hard boiled egg whites on hand since I started. That is not to say that I haven’t had my slips. But, overall, I have been eating so much healthier, centering my daily diet more around veggies than anything else. And I feel SO much better for it. I don’t know about weight loss, but I am less bloated, I have way more energy, and just feel “lighter”{for lack of a better word.}

Some of the food I have made in the past couple of weeks: Clockwise from top left: 1~A giant salad I made for the fridge.{ I used my food processor to make all the veggies uniform and for some reason, it totally upped the yumminess factor}, 2~Petite Veggie polenta “Pizzas“,3~ Confetti bean Salad

I will admit that at times it has been a battle to do the work necessary to prepare the food in advance. There are so many things that tug at my time, that I do have to force myself to do this. I think that’s what forming a new habit is all about, though; forcing myself at first, until it becomes something that is no longer up for “discussion” in my inner monologue. I am still in the much thought and forcing stage, but I am thankful for progress.

Are you one of the few who are partnering with me? How is it going?

Not yet in on all of this “forming a new habit & living better daily” but would love to be?  It’s not too late!  I’m working on this one habit for an entire month, so catch up here and then leave a comment letting me know you’re in!
