in just spring……..

…waiting, anxiously awaiting……..spring.

my world is in desperate need of warmth…and the voices of the neighborhood kids adrift in the air…….

..and birds…and grass green…..bee balm red….

can you smell lilac?

In celebration of the anticipation of spring and new life I’ve planted a garden of Twillypops this morning for the infusion of color back into my smeary, dreary white world…….
and a poem, one of my favorites of all time…so, stay a minute, daydream and lolligag……

stomp in a puddle with me
let’s try your adult bodies at jumping rope just one more time while the boys pull our pigtails……

in just
e.e. cummings
in just-
spring when the world is mud-
luscious the little
lame balloonman
whistles far and wee

and eddieandbill come
running from marbles and
piracies and it’s spring

when the world is puddle-wonderful

the queer
old balloonman whistles
far and wee
and bettyandisbel come dancing
from hop-scotch and jump-rope and
it’s spring
and the goat-footed balloonman whistles
far
and
wee
…what are you most anticipating about spring?
