The Penelope Plaids

I’m astounded as I look around and realize…plaid’s back in? Plaid recalls (and I’m about to irrevocably date myself) freshman year of college to me…as i trekked off to the University of Rochester with my trunk full of oversized men’s plaid shirts. Even as I sit here and write this I shudder at the thought…….and yet,
I find myself drawn once again to the plaid but I know I’ll never go back……
Enter the Penelope plaid necklaces that I made, actually, with my sweet nine year old daughter in mind. She’s a girl who, like her mama, prefers jeans but loves accessories. What a fun touch of plaid these turned out to be! As I was taking the photos I liked them so much that I was contemplating how on earth I could ever get away with wearing one myself………..
They look precious on my sweet girl’s neck, and wouldn’t they also be utterly adorable for the young teen? Or are there others of you like me……recalling the days of Pearl Jam, 90210 in its prime, and those plaid shirts we lived in who are inexplicably drawn to these?

  1. I had my plaid years too! Now, I ‘ll leave it to my daughter to look adorable in one of those. Those would be great stocking stuffers with the reds and greens!!! :O)

  2. Thanks so much for your lovely comments! Your work is gorgeous and unique, and I’d like to feature you; I’ll be in touch with details. P.S. I can’t even ride in my car now without listening to The Message (wish I had satellite radio at home) 🙂
